French Farmer Protests –
We need to draw urgent attention to Low Farmgate Prices.
French farmers are dumping manure across high-ways and lorry loads of imported produce at port entrances are being stopped and destroyed. This has caused chaos in the distribution chain by forcing drivers from other countries to make long detours and use other ports further along the coast.
At Zest, we are working hard to make sure this has as little an impact on our customers as possible and we will continue to do so while these protests continue.
Cauliflower – Probably by far the biggest Yoyo of fresh produce. At present offering pretty good value for money compared to the prices over the last couple of weeks. But don’t hold your breath this could and most probably will, change over the next week or so.
Tomatoes – Prices are coming down to the average price for this time of year.
Stable prices on cucumber, iceberg and peppers make salads a good choice.
Just what we all need this time of the year, right!
In fact, it’s all pretty positive this week.
Let’s make the most of it.
